Senior Data Center Planner

STACK InfrastructureDenver, CO
Onsite

About The Position

STACK Infrastructure (STACK) provides digital infrastructure to scale the world’s most innovative companies. We are an award-winning industry leader in building, owning, and operating highly efficient, cost-effective wholesale, colocation, and cloud data centers. Each of our national facilities meets or exceeds the highest industry standards in all operational categories of availability, security, connectivity, and physical resilience. STACK offers the scale and geographic reach that rapidly growing hyperscale and enterprise companies need. The world runs on data. Data runs on STACK. The Senior Data Center Planner will be responsible for creating, customizing, and rolling out standardized Owner Schedules on all active STACK BOD/turnkey projects across the portfolio. This role provides a high-level schedule overview that tracks key timelines, long lead items, and critical milestones for STACK, without duplicating efforts with the General Contractor (GC). A key aspect of the role involves conducting early-stage schedule sanity-checks to ensure proposed customer durations are realistic and achievable, often under time-sensitive conditions. The planner will also create schedules that clearly communicate project health, risks, and float to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), requiring a strong eye for graphical presentation and organization. Identifying and reporting risks early, and collaborating with project teams to develop mitigation and recovery strategies, are essential functions. The role includes reviewing and improving the existing Owner Schedule Template, developing multiple versions for different project types, and providing ongoing support and training to project teams to maintain schedule accuracy. Additionally, the planner will manage an Owner Schedule database/repository in SharePoint, assist project teams in analyzing GC schedules, develop a Master Portfolio Schedule, collaborate on conceptual schedules, and help develop a Construction Schedule Specification for GCs. Ad hoc schedule analyses and scenario planning will also be required.

Requirements

  • Emphasis on continuous development and improvement of the program, templates, processes, training and tools.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must pass comprehensive background and drug screening
  • Strong communicator, persuasive and clear, blending analytics with experience in decision-making.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities while balancing urgent requests with shifting timelines and deliverables.
  • Team builder, understanding and developing the strengths of resources while formulating long-term plans for team growth and success.
  • Naturally curious and driven toward continual improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • The intent is NOT to reinvent the wheel or duplicate efforts with the GC, but rather to provide a high-level schedule overview that tracks the key timelines, long lead items, and milestones that are most critical to STACK.
  • These determinations are often highly time sensitive.
  • As such, a keen eye for graphical presentation, organization and structure will be critical.
  • It is not intended that you will complete these schedule updates yourself but rather provide support, training and guidance to the teams as needed.
  • Current Master Portfolio Schedule file is Excel-based.
