ArmadaUnited States (Remote), CA
$98,160 - $148,500Remote

About The Position

Armada is seeking a Senior Data Center BIM Designer to support its new product lines (Galleon, Leviathan, and Orion). This role will be responsible for owning the Building Information Modeling (BIM) process, ensuring integration across all disciplines (civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, piping, controls, and ICT) into a single coordinated model. The position involves establishing BIM and drawing standards, producing and governing drawing packages for various modular form factors, and acting as the senior technical authority for BIM-related matters. The designer will work closely with product and engineering leadership to embed scalable BIM practices into new product development. This is a facility-level BIM role, focusing on the overall data center model rather than individual equipment.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on BIM/CAD design and drafting experience in commercial, industrial, or modular/offshore projects.
  • Deep, hands-on experience in either CSA (civil, structural, architectural) or MEP (mechanical, electrical, piping) and strong working knowledge of the other.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate across CSA and MEP disciplines.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage multi-discipline models.
  • Demonstrated ability to run clash detection/coordination (Navisworks or equivalent).
  • Ability to build BIM/drawing standards, libraries, templates, title blocks, and naming/layer conventions.
  • Comfort operating with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 10–20%.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with containerized, modular/prefabricated, or skid-mounted data center drawing packages.
  • Experience integrating controls/BMS and ICT (structured cabling, low voltage, fire alarm, security) scope into a single coordinated BIM model.
  • Experience standing up design standards, templates, or governance processes for a growing team.
  • Background collaborating directly with product/hardware engineering teams on new product development.
  • Autodesk Certified Professional (BIM Management for Building Design or discipline-specific Revit).
  • Experience administering a CDE (Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360).
  • Familiarity with ISO 19650/openBIM standards.
  • Experience with reality capture (ReCap) for as-built verification.
  • 4D/5D BIM capability (linking models to project schedules and cost/quantity takeoffs).

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain one coordinated Revit/BIM model covering civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, piping, controls, and ICT for both existing and new Modular Data Center (MDC) product lines.
  • Build and own the drawing libraries, standard details, templates, Revit families, title blocks, and naming/layer conventions for CSA and MEP disciplines.
  • Own the modeling and documentation process for new form factors including ISO shipping containers, e-houses, and skid-mounted equipment with PEMB buildings.
  • Run clash detection/coordination across all MDC disciplines, review design output against standards and the master model, and act as the single escalation point for inter-disciplinary conflicts.
  • Work with product/engineering leadership to define modular BIM templates and campus-level design patterns for new product development.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary and equity
  • Medical, dental, and vision (subsidized cost)
  • Health savings accounts (HSA)
  • Flexible spending accounts (FSA)
  • Dependent care FSAs (DCFSA)
  • Retirement plan options, including 401(k) and Roth 401(k)
  • Unlimited paid time off (PTO)
  • 14 paid company holidays per year
