About The Position

Northeast Precast (NEP) has an immediate opening for a full-time BIM Designer at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Vineland, New Jersey. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing South Jersey company and contribute to the design and production of precast concrete building systems. The BIM Designer is responsible for creating accurate, high-quality BIM models and shop drawings for use in precast concrete manufacturing and construction. This position works closely with project managers, project engineers, architects, contractors, and internal production teams to ensure designs meet project requirements, contract documents, and company standards.

Requirements

  • Strong CAD and/or BIM modeling skills.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Tekla, AutoCAD, or comparable BIM software.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and shop drawings.
  • Understanding of construction design, detailing, and coordination.
  • Ability to identify and resolve design or construction-related issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple departments.
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet project deadlines.
  • One to three years of relevant experience detailing precast concrete, concrete, structural steel, or similar construction components.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in drafting, engineering technology, architecture, construction, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain detailed BIM models for precast concrete components.
  • Prepare accurate shop drawings for approval and fabrication.
  • Review and interpret architectural, structural, and contract drawings and specifications.
  • Check shop drawings for accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, project managers, and project engineers to resolve design and construction issues.
  • Identify potential design conflicts and recommend practical solutions.
  • Follow established company processes, drafting standards, and project schedules.
  • Assist with developing and improving BIM standards, templates, and procedures.
  • Coordinate design information with internal manufacturing and project teams.
  • Manage multiple assignments while meeting established deadlines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
