Senior, Data Analyst (SQL, Tableau, Business Fluency)
About The Position
This role is part of the Decision Sciences, Delivery Data & Analytics BI team that supports the ecommerce transportation's daily operations. The Senior Data Analyst will help users navigate through billions of data points to make timely decisions. This role involves working with operations and finance teams to provide necessary insights, offering opportunities to learn about the business and upgrade technical skills. The position requires excellent SQL skills, the ability to manipulate data from multiple tables while maintaining data integrity (4-6 years), creativity in developing impactful Tableau Dashboards with a User Experience foundation (2-3 years), and business operations fluency to understand and root cause business problems. A background in Supply Chain, preferably with Last Mile Delivery or Parcel Deliveries experience, and excellent communication skills for cross-functional work are also important.
Requirements
- Excellent SQL Skills.
- Capability to manipulate data from multiple tables while keeping the data integrity (4-6 years)
- Creativity with a User Experience foundation to develop impactful Tableau Dashboards (2-3 years)
- Business Operations Fluency. Capability to understand and root cause a business problem.
- A Supply Chain background, preferably with Last Mile Delivery or Parcel Deliveries experience.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance or related field and 2 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
- Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
- 4 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
Nice To Haves
- Advanced experience with SQL and Tableau
- Experience with ecommerce operations or parcel carrier operations
- Experience with Python or other scripting language.
- Experience with data manipulation tools such as Knime, Alteryx, R, Tableau Prep etc.
Responsibilities
- Work with large, messy, disparate datasets and conduct ad-hoc analyses to quickly inform critical business decisions.
- Create ETLs or processes that pull data from multiple places and centralize it in one table.
- Develop data visualization to monitor and quantify the impact of changes and unique business challenges.
- Engage with team members and cross-functional teams on a periodic basis and establish credibility.
- Analyze stakeholder needs and partner with them to share relevant information, including partnering with Operations, Finance and Product teams on data accuracy, completeness and latency across multiple operations and systems.
- Leverage scripting languages (Python preferred) to automate activities made for reporting (Screenshots, metrics prioritization and outlier recognition).
- Document your processes and share your knowledge with your peers.
- Mentor your peers as you become a Subject Matter Expert.
