About The Position

Carrier Sekani Family Services (CSFS) is seeking a Senior Cultural Advisor to join their team in Burns Lake, BC. CSFS is a leader in Indigenous health and family services, emphasizing culture in all its operations. The organization has grown significantly since the late 1980s and now employs over 475 individuals serving 11 member Nations. This role offers the opportunity to work in a progressive environment, engage with communities, and experience the natural beauty of northern BC.

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to promote Indigenous protocols and ceremonies as recognized by their Nation and/or community.
• Healthcare background/knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement cultural resources for the organization.
• Ensure CSFS consistently provides relevant and culturally appropriate services.
• Coordinate and facilitate various community meetings to develop cultural practices for staff, families, communities and clients.
• Develop and maintain a resource list of cultural people, resources, and other Elders/Knowledge Holders.
