About The Position

The Senior Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (Sr. CASAC) is a key member of the interdisciplinary treatment team at Gracie Square Hospital. The role provides individual and group counseling to patients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, including tobacco dependence identified through TAPS screening. Working with clinical staff, the Sr. CASAC supports treatment planning, patient engagement, recovery education, and coordination of ongoing care to help patients achieve their treatment goals. The position also provides scheduling, guidance, and support to per diem CASAC staff and helps monitor documentation compliance and staff training and development. This is a full-time, day-shift position, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, in New York, New York.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
NYS Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC).
3–5 years of clinical experience in addiction treatment.
Experience working with individuals with psychiatric illness and co-occurring substance use disorders.

One year of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

Provide individual and group counseling for patients with substance use disorders.

Maintain timely and accurate electronic documentation.
