About The Position
The IMA Group is hiring a full-time Credentialed Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) for its Binghamton, New York office. The counselor meets with clients, assesses their needs, connects them with appropriate OASAS programs, and follows up on referrals and engagement. Assessments are scheduled through the Broome County Department of Social Services. The position offers a structured weekday schedule, a steady referral stream, no caseload to carry home, no on-call rotation, and no billing pressure. The IMA Group’s Government Services Division supports local, state, and federal agencies and provides professional and objective medical and psychological examinations and ancillary services.
Requirements
- Active CASAC credential in New York State, with continuing education per OASAS requirements.
- One to four years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities
- Complete timely substance use disorder assessments scheduled through the Broome County Department of Social Services.
- Recommend treatment and make referrals matched to each client’s circumstances.
- Track client engagement in OASAS programs and keep documentation current.
- Use knowledge of local providers and community resources to move referrals quickly.
- Secure consents and confirm placements.
- Build strong working relationships with the SAAM team, DSS staff, and area OASAS providers.
