About The Position

The IMA Group is hiring a Credentialed Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) to conduct assessments and connect clients to treatment in partnership with the Orange County Department of Social Services. The role supports the Newburgh and Middletown, New York locations, with travel between sites as needed. It offers full-time or part-time work on a consistent Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with no nights, weekends, or on-call duties. Pay is $28–$30 per hour, based on experience.

The IMA Group’s Government Services Division supports local, state, and federal agencies by providing professional and objective medical and psychological examinations, as well as ancillary services. Its Payer Services Division provides evaluation and screening services, including behavioral health and physical medicine specialties, to organizations across workers’ compensation, disability, liability, and auto markets. Its Clinical Research Division conducts Phase II–IV clinical trials through a nationwide network of sites and virtual capabilities.

Requirements

• Active CASAC credential.
• 1–4 years of relevant experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel between the Newburgh and Middletown locations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct timely substance use disorder assessments referred by the County Department of Social Services.
• Recommend and facilitate appropriate substance use disorder treatment referrals.
• Monitor client participation in OASAS programs.
• Maintain accurate records and obtain treatment consents.
• Collaborate with community providers, SAAM team members, and county agencies.
• Stay current on local OASAS resources and community-based treatment services.
