CASAC - Credentialed Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counselor - Binghamton, NY
About The Position
The IMA Group is hiring a full-time Credentialed Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) for its Binghamton, New York office. The counselor completes substance use disorder assessments scheduled through the Broome County Department of Social Services, recommends treatment, and makes referrals to appropriate OASAS programs. The role includes tracking client engagement, maintaining current documentation, using knowledge of local providers and community resources to expedite referrals, securing consents, and confirming placements. The counselor works with the SAAM team, DSS staff, and area OASAS providers. The position offers consistent full-time hours on a predictable Monday–Friday schedule, with no on-call rotation, no caseload to take home, and no billing pressure. The IMA Group’s Government Services Division supports local, state, and federal agencies by providing professional and objective medical and psychological examinations and ancillary services. Its Payer Services Division provides evaluation and screening services, including behavioral health and physical medicine specialty services, and its Clinical Research Division conducts Phase II–IV clinical trials across multiple therapeutic areas through nationwide sites and virtual capabilities.
Requirements
- Active CASAC credential in New York State.
- Continuing education in accordance with OASAS requirements.
- One to four years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities
