About The Position

This is a Year-Round Position. Resume Required with Application. As an Electrician, you will be responsible for the new construction and maintenance of electrical systems throughout the park. You will be required to conduct general maintenance inspections, perform routine electrical maintenance, install electrical, and respond to electrical issues. Silver Dollar City is one of America’s Top Theme Parks. Our guests travel from all around the country to experience our internationally awarded 1880s-style theme park with over 40 thrilling rides and attractions, 18 restaurants, 60 shops, live concerts and shows that all sits atop of Marvel Cave.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and a background check.
  • Must be proficient with electrical tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Must be able to work at heights from ladders and/or aerial lifts.
  • Must be able to work on construction sites with uneven terrain
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds (assisted).
  • Must have specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to read, write, comprehend instructions and communicate in English.
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Missouri Class E Driver's License or resident state equivalent.
  • Ability to read technical designs and blueprints
  • Basic computer skills; MS Word, MS Excel and SCADA system.
  • Must be to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Nice To Haves

  • Master Electrician/Journeyman Electrician license.
  • 3 – 5 years of previous related experience and/or technical training in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical certification or higher-level education desired.
  • Continuing education and training by becoming certified in one or more specific skills as determined by leadership.
  • General knowledge in the National Electric Code, state, and local building codes.
  • Knowledge of the techniques, equipment, and materials used in the mechanical maintenance and repair of related equipment and systems.
  • Proof of current certification in any related field or equipment-handling certificates.
  • Proof of OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour course completion.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, maintenance, repair, or preventative maintenance to a wide variety of electrical systems according to code.
  • Reads work orders and executes them efficiently in a safe manner, and according to code.
  • Study blueprints and schematics, and determine methods, materials, and equipment needed to complete the assignment. Plan layout to install electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment depending on the local codes and job specifications.
  • Regularly inspects and evaluates electrical system failures and provides immediate and long-term corrective action.
  • Diagnose common electrical system failures and provide immediate and long-term corrective action.
  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble or replace defective electrical equipment such as plugs, switches, outlets, controls, ballasts, motors, and appliances using hand tools, test equipment, and service manuals.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate paperwork such as records, logs, orders, surveys, and routine reports as directed.
  • Follows Company’s Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies, and report unsafe conditions.
  • Takes and records system operation readings according to prescribed schedules.
  • Maintains daily logs, records plant operating data as required in logs and operations software.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate paperwork such as records, logs, orders, surveys and routine reports as directed.
  • Able to perform accurate mathematical calculations related to this position.
  • Effective, timely, and respectful communication and interactions with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and citizen customers.
  • Additional responsibilities will include installation, repair, and maintenance of all utilities, including HVAC, Mechanical, fire alarm, and Plumbing systems as needed.
