About The Position

OCI AI Infrastructure builds a high-performance GPU platform for AI/ML/HPC workloads, enabling customers to scale from tens to thousands of GPUs. The team designs and develops architectural capabilities for GPU delivery, health monitoring, automated triage, and diagnostics that support distributed workloads across large GPU fleets using technologies such as RoCE and InfiniBand. The Senior Core Infrastructure Engineer designs, implements, and optimizes scalable, resilient, and operable distributed-system components. The role delivers features and load/performance tests, uses data-plane platforms and distributed-state tools for high-volume retrieval, storage, and processing, and reviews implementations for scalability. It also builds fault-tolerant systems, detects and mitigates operational issues, develops troubleshooting and maintenance automation, and applies security and compliance standards.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical field involving coding, or equivalent practical experience.
Deep understanding of operating systems, computer networks, and high-performance applications.
At least 6 years of experience delivering and operating large-scale production systems with 1,000 or more server instances.
Proficiency in one programming language: Java, Python, C, C++, Go, or shell scripting.
Systematic problem-solving approach, strong communication skills, sense of ownership, and drive.
Proven ability to deliver products and experience with the full software development lifecycle.

Nice To Haves

Strong background in Linux systems.
Familiarity with system-level architecture, data synchronization, fault tolerance, and state management.
General enterprise storage, networking, or computing experience.
Experience with server/GPU hardware architecture and system management.
Experience with InfiniBand or RoCE networking.
Hands-on experience designing, developing, and operating public cloud service data planes.
Good understanding of databases and SQL (MySQL) and caching technologies such as Redis or Memcache.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and optimize distributed-system components for scalability, resiliency, and operability.
Deliver features and load/performance tests; use data-plane platforms and distributed-state tools for high-volume retrieval, storage, and processing.
Review peer implementations for scalability compliance.
Build fault-tolerant paths using redundancy, replication, and automatic failover; apply recovery-oriented principles and implement retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
Proactively detect and mitigate issues using tests, alarms, dashboards, and telemetry.
Author runbooks and participate in incident response and root-cause analyses.
Implement standard replication and synchronization.
Develop automation and infrastructure as code for troubleshooting and maintenance.
Apply security controls, including encryption, access controls, and remediation, while meeting change, compliance, and documentation standards.
