Designs, implements, and optimizes distributed-system components, with an emphasis on scalability, resiliency, and operability. Delivers features and load and performance tests; uses data-plane platforms and distributed-state tools for high-volume retrieval, storage, and processing; and reviews implementations for scalability. Builds fault-tolerant paths through redundancy, replication, and automatic failover, and applies recovery-oriented principles, retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts. Proactively detects and mitigates issues with tests, alarms, dashboards, and telemetry; authors runbooks and participates in incident response and root-cause analysis. Implements replication and synchronization, develops automation and infrastructure-as-code for troubleshooting and maintenance, and applies security controls while meeting change, compliance, and documentation standards. As a Core Infrastructure Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and operate highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant microservices across control-plane, connectivity, distributed-systems data-plane, and Linux-daemon technologies. You will contribute throughout the product lifecycle, from conceptualization and product definition through design, development, launch, and operational maturity. You will identify opportunities to automate engineering workflows across development, testing, troubleshooting, operations, and documentation, using AI-assisted and agentic approaches where appropriate. You will measure and improve reliability, delivery velocity, operational efficiency, customer outcomes, and engineering productivity, and share effective practices across the team. The role calls for a hands-on, adaptable, self-motivated engineer who learns quickly, applies new tools thoughtfully, and enjoys challenging high-availability and scalability problems.
