Senior Copywriter

FairSquareOrlando, FL
$85,000 - $105,000Hybrid

About The Position

As a Senior Copywriter, you’ll be a hands-on creative force, producing high-quality, high-performing copy across print and digital channels that brings our brands to life and supports our marketing and business objectives. Working closely with the Sr. Director of Brand Marketing and the broader creative team, you’ll help shape and sustain a distinct brand voice that resonates with our audiences. This is a craft-focused role for a writer who thrives on producing excellent work, raising the bar through example, and lending guidance to junior writers and freelancers without the responsibilities of direct management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of professional writing experience, with a proven track record of producing highly effective, high-performing creative work across multiple projects and channels at once.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with knowledge of best practices across print and digital channels.
  • A passion for storytelling and the ability to develop original, impactful content.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of writing principles, branding, and user experience.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively, with a focus on problem-solving.
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools within the writing workstream to create efficiency and scale, produce high-performing UX writing for web and other digital experiences while ensuring SEO/LLM effectiveness, keep pace with competitor marketing, and stay up to date on developments in the macro environment as they pertain to our customer base.
  • Experience working on multiple brands simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong working knowledge of the latest AI tools and emerging technologies, with a genuine enthusiasm for keeping pace as they evolve.
  • A strong, comprehensive portfolio showcasing your writing across projects, brands, and channels — including the results your work drove.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working for a small business is a plus.
  • Retail or other highly competitive writing experience is a plus — work that must grab attention fast and perform with audiences who have little to no time to spare.

Responsibilities

  • Write and edit high-quality, high-performing, engaging content for each of the FairSquare brands, across diverse formats including direct mail, website, email, SMS, organic & paid social, TV/animation/video scripts, and more. Ensure consistency in tone, style, and messaging across each brand and all channels.
  • Use data and audience insights to inform your writing and adapt techniques to meet the needs and preferences of different target audiences.
  • Partner with the Sr. Director of Brand Marketing and creative team to translate brand and campaign strategies into compelling copy. Proactively contribute ideas and concepts that address business needs, target audiences, and marketing objectives.
  • Provide constructive feedback and informal guidance to junior writers and freelancers, helping raise the quality of the team’s output. Model creative excellence and a collaborative spirit.
  • Apply and help evolve brand guidelines to ensure cohesive, effective communication across all written assets and platforms.
  • Work closely with Brand team members, the UX/UI team, the broader Customer Experience Division, and other departments to integrate copy into campaigns and initiatives. Communicate clearly and stay aligned on project goals and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with the Project Managers and Sr. Director of Brand Marketing on priorities, timelines, and quality. Deliver projects on time and within scope.
  • Stay current on industry and SMB customer trends, AI tools and technologies, and best practices in content creation (including SEO/LLMs) and storytelling. Proactively explore and adopt new tools to keep our work fresh, relevant, and efficient.
  • Edit and proofread your own work and, when asked, others’ — ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Share concepts and copy with the Sr. Director of Brand Marketing and stakeholders, clearly explaining the rationale behind creative decisions. Incorporate feedback and iterate as needed.
