About The Position

Dominion Energy is seeking an experienced Senior Controls Specialist – Financial Controls to join their Nuclear Project Team. This role will focus on the development and implementation of cost controls for large capital projects across the company's four nuclear power stations. The Specialist will be responsible for establishing and implementing standardized cost and planning control policies, procedures, and tools, as well as overseeing their governance and enforcement. In this capacity, the Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert in forming cost estimates and project schedules, monitoring actual project costs and work status to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget. The role also involves analyzing monthly cost reports, providing status updates to management, training junior controls personnel, implementing and evaluating controls systems, coordinating controls equipment, conducting meetings with contractors, and acting as the lead controls discipline representative for major projects. A key aspect of this role is establishing and nurturing productive relationships with stakeholders across the organization through precise and purposeful communication.

Requirements

  • Five (5) or more years of work experience related to the fields of cost controls, accounting, budgeting, finance, business administration, or project management.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Project Management or closely related degree.
  • In lieu of the preferred Bachelor's degree, a candidate may substitute a related Associate's degree and seven (7) or more years of work experience related to the fields of cost controls, accounting, budgeting, finance, business administration, or project management.
  • In lieu of the preferred Bachelor’s degree, a candidate may substitute a High School diploma/GED and nine (9) or more years of work experience related to the fields of cost controls, accounting, budgeting, finance, business administration, or project management.
  • Additional training or certifications related to cost controls, financial management, or project management to include the Project Management Professional (PMP).

Responsibilities
