About The Position

People Driven Credit Union is seeking a Senior Consumer Lending Underwriter to join their lending team. This role is the primary centralized lending authority for consumer, small business, and home equity loan decisions. The Senior Consumer Lending Underwriter will evaluate loan applications using established underwriting guidelines and policies, balancing sound credit decisions with outstanding member service. This position will also serve as a trusted resource for the lending team, providing guidance on loan decisions, lending products, and underwriting standards, ensuring every member receives prompt, professional, and personalized service.

Requirements

• 2 year degree or the equivalent education, experience and training.
• Previous or current NMLS Certification.
• Minimum 2 years’ underwriting experience, including home equity underwriting.
• Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and criminal background screening.

Responsibilities

• Analyze consumer, small business, and home equity loan applications of varying complexity, value, and risk.
• Evaluate loan files and make sound credit decisions in accordance with Board-approved lending policies and internal underwriting guidelines.
• Determine appropriate documentation requirements for approved loan applications.
• Review documentation to ensure all underwriting conditions have been satisfied before funding.
• Structure lending solutions that meet members' financial needs while strengthening their overall relationship with the credit union.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for the lending team regarding underwriting decisions, lending policies, and loan products.
• Develop expertise in advanced consumer, small business, and home equity lending concepts.
• Deliver informed, accurate, and exceptional service to members and internal team members.
