About The Position

This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a full-time Senior Consultant, Geotechnical Engineer! This position is open to our Orlando, FL office. Be involved in projects with our Transportation & Infrastructure Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant post education experience in engineering and prior geotechnical design experience.
• Florida PE registration
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with excellent analytical abilities, leadership ability, and a positive attitude
• Ability to work both independently and within groups
• Competence in the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is necessary

Nice To Haves

• Proven experience in Florida area geotechnical practice and geology
• Proven experience with FDOT, Design Build projects, Transportation, and Dam/Levees
• Willing to support field logging and/or field observation
• Familiarity with discipline-specific design software - GeoStudio (SLOPE/W, SEEP/W, SIGMA/W, &QUAKE), LPILE, GROUP , FBDEEP, MSEW, PLAXIS, DeepEX, CAD: AutoCAD, MicroStation
• Prior experience with Florida Geology and local market
• Master's degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in geotechnical engineering
• Transportation Experience as design or field/lab exploration and recommendations

Responsibilities

• Assist with work plan preparation and coordination of field/site work and laboratory testing
• Prepare geotechnical data reports
• Prepare geotechnical calculations and conduct modeling, including slope stability, seepage and consolidation analyses
• Prepare geotechnical recommendations reports with senior review
• Assist with writing reports, cost estimating and permit documents
• Assist with the preparation of project design packages including technical drawings, specifications, project schedules, and cost estimates
