As the (Senior) Consultant Factory Planning, you will support sheet metal processing companies across North America in improving manufacturing efficiency, factory layouts, material flow, and shop floor management. From analysis and concept development through implementation, you will help customers develop practical, sustainable solutions that optimize production structures and deliver measurable results. Working closely with TRUMPF experts and customers, you will combine consulting, process optimization, and change management to drive continuous improvement and further develop TRUMPF’s consulting services in the US market.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in customer-facing roles, factory planning, production optimization, or manufacturing consulting; experience in Industry 4.0, Continuous Improvement, or Lean Manufacturing is highly desirable, ideally in an industrial or metalworking environment.
  • A structured and goal-oriented way of working, combined with a high level of initiative, creative problem-solving skills, and a strong customer focus.
  • A confident presence and excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with owners and senior executives on an equal footing.
  • A solid understanding of modern manufacturing technologies, including ERP, MES, and sheet metal fabrication, along with a strong interest in digitalization and process optimization.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills for workshops and customer meetings, including the ability to communicate complex topics clearly and convincingly.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
  • High willingness to travel within North America.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to sheet metal processing companies across North America, supporting them from initial analysis and concept development through implementation.
  • Design and optimize factory layouts, material flow concepts, machine capacity requirements, and storage systems to build efficient and sustainable production structures.
  • Analyze and model manufacturing and business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and develop practical solutions that can be implemented on the shop floor.
  • Work closely with TRUMPF experts from different disciplines on interdisciplinary projects, with a consistent focus on measurable impact and customer value.
  • Create a motivating project environment through strong communication, moderation, and empathy, while supporting customers through change management.
  • Contribute to the continued development of TRUMPF’s consulting services and methods in the US market and help shape future standards in factory planning and shop floor management.
