About The Position

As a Senior Consultant, Application development and Support you will take up the technical delivery of critical and time sensitive projects and regulatory initiatives under CIBC's Global Wires and Payments Technology portfolio. The Portfolio consists of several Tier - 1 critical applications which process very high value payments for the organization and hence the SLAs are very stringent. You are also required provide technical expertise to the team during the critical production issues during business and off business hours. Apart from the above, the role is responsible for the functional design and development of application systems across all technologies and platforms. The role provides consultation for senior management on a wide spectrum of existing and emerging infrastructure technologies, translating user requirements to process and data requirements and developing solutions for the business with far-reaching impact. The role provides technical leadership to develop precise steps and processing logic across all platforms, ensuring the designed specifications achieve business needs. In addition, the role provides comprehensive senior level technical consulting to other IT senior management and senior technical teams. Requirements

10+ years’ experience in overall IT with production support.
Strong technical knowledge on Azure cloud Redhat Linux, IBM MQ/Kafka, SQL/Oracle DB, No Sql DB, data lake concept and understanding of Web technologies like Java, Springboot, Node JS etc.
Strong knowledge on Microservice (Redhat Openshift, Kubernetes, Docker) architecture and containerization platform and File Transfer software and scheduling software like Autosys.
Experience building and integrating with external systems using SOAP/REST APIs; knowledge of different Single Sign-On implementation is an asset.
Familiarity with DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, Ansible, GitHub Actions and Artifactory is advantageous.
Should have experience in handling production support for Tier 1 application.
Very strong knowledge of incident, problem and change management process.
Willing to work on Infrastructure upgrade activities and support the verification for Infrastructure implementations.
Understanding of both SDLC and Agile delivery model and delivering CCR (Currency, Capacity and Refresh).
Strong understanding on various application and regulatory audit processes.
Strong Network and Firewall rules knowledge is an added advantage.
Experience in Azure components like Azure ADF, SQL MI, Azure NSG rules etc. will be an added advantage.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Technical discipline.

Nice To Haves

Preferable in banking domain applications.
Knowledge on SWIFT related products (SAG, AWP, AMH, etc.) and Citrix platform is added advantage.
Understanding of large value payments and wires, SWIFT, ISO 20022, LVTS/Lynx is an asset.

Responsibilities

Perform and coordinate complex solution design activities.
Understand the business requirements and translate them into system and application design that is aligned with our technology roadmap.
Design and document the technical functionality, infrastructure, interfaces and integrations.
Lead the design of cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet both business objectives and the goal of operational efficiency.
Identify and resolve production issues for a Tier 1 - Critical application in a timely manner.
Work with the support team and provide required updates to the management during the issue.
Work on a permanent solution and bring in ideas to remediate and eliminate the production issues.
Contribute to technology roadmaps that are aligned with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business objectives.
Lead multiple complex technology solutions while maintaining consistency across the platform, adopting best practices and pushing forward continuous improvements.
