Senior Commercial Product Manager (Focus: Commercial Property)
About The Position
IAT Insurance Group is hiring a Senior Commercial Product Manager focused on Commercial Property. The role is based in Cheshire, CT; Alpharetta, GA; Raleigh, NC; Scottsdale, AZ; Newark, NJ; Naperville, IL; or Rolling Meadows, IL, and follows a hybrid schedule: office work Monday through Wednesday, with the option to work remotely Thursday and Friday. The position leads the strategy, development, and performance of IAT’s Commercial Property product portfolio. It analyzes property exposures, market trends, and competitive developments; develops coverage solutions; shapes underwriting strategy; and advances product innovation. The role partners with underwriting, actuarial, claims, compliance, regulatory, and executive teams to keep products competitive, profitable, and responsive to market needs. It also supports filings, regulatory interactions, and underwriting education, and serves as a technical resource on property coverage and underwriting issues. The annual gross salary range is $72,560 to $175,500, with actual compensation varying according to qualifications, skills, competencies, and location. Total compensation includes base salary, performance-based bonus opportunities, a 401(k) match, and profit-sharing opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of commercial insurance experience in product management, underwriting, forms development, portfolio management, or related disciplines.
- At least 3 years focused on Commercial Property product work.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in Property underwriting or commercial insurance product development.
- Familiarity with ISO products and filings.
- Experience with regulatory filings, such as SERFF.
- Professional designations such as Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or Associate in Risk Management (ARM).
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy, development, and management of IAT’s Commercial Property product portfolio.
- Analyze emerging exposures, market trends, and competitive developments to identify product opportunities and challenges.
- Develop and enhance policy forms, endorsements, underwriting guidelines, and coverage solutions.
- Partner with underwriting leadership to refine underwriting strategy, risk appetite, and portfolio performance.
- Evaluate ISO changes and recommend adoption, modification, or proprietary alternatives.
- Collaborate with actuarial, claims, compliance, and regulatory teams to drive product enhancements.
- Support product filings, regulatory interactions, and underwriting education initiatives.
- Serve as a technical resource on property coverage and underwriting issues.
