Senior Commercial/ Industrial HVAC Technician

About The Position

Sylvester & Cockrum (S&C), a full-service mechanical contractor serving North Carolina, South Carolina, and surrounding regions, is seeking a senior-level Commercial/Industrial HVAC Technician based in the Raleigh, NC area. S&C provides commercial, institutional, and industrial mechanical and electrical services, with an emphasis on quality craftsmanship, safety, integrity, disciplined execution, and professional field leadership. In this role, you will install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in commercial settings. You will work with a range of equipment, including boilers, chillers, and commercial and industrial HVAC systems. The position reports to the Field Service Supervisor / Service Manager.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience as a commercial/industrial service technician.
Service and repair experience with HVAC/R equipment, including electrical, refrigeration, gas/oil, VAV/mixing boxes, fan boxes, controls, VRF, VFD, CRAC, DX, water source heat pumps (WSHP), chillers, boilers, and related hydronic equipment.
Valid North Carolina driver's license.
Universal CFC certification.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

Maintain and service HVAC systems, including hydronic, steam, chilled water, DX, forced air, heat pump, VAV, constant-volume, exhaust, heat-recovery, and related mechanical systems.
Maintain tools, supplies, and equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance, service, and repairs on equipment.
Follow safety requirements and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Keep appropriate records.
Work extended shifts when needed, with overtime as required.
Maintain a professional appearance.
Communicate with customers.
