About The Position

Clarapath is a medical robotics company based in Westchester County, NY. Our mission is to transform and modernize laboratory workflows with the goal of improving patient care, decreasing costs, and enhancing the quality and consistency of laboratory processes. SectionStar by Clarapath is a ground- breaking electro-mechanical system designed to elevate and automate the workflow in histology laboratories and provide pathologists with the tissue samples they need to make the most accurate diagnoses. Through the use of innovative technology, data, and precision analytics, Clarapath is paving the way for a new era of laboratory medicine. The Senior CNC Programmer & Machinist will play a critical role in Clarapaths manufacturing operations, responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality components. This role requires expertise in precision machining, tooling, and interpreting engineering drawings, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and optimize CNC programs for efficiency and accuracy. The ideal candidate will be proficient with CNC programming software, develop and maintain efficient workflows, and drive process improvements to support the growth of Clarapaths manufacturing capabilities. We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented team player who thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment and is eager to take on increasing responsibilities as the company expands.

Requirements

  • 510+ years of experience in CNC programming and machining
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machines, tooling, and machining techniques
  • Proficiency with CNC programming software (ex: Mastercam, Fusion 360, or equivalent)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Experience with process optimization and workflow improvements
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a medical device or high-precision manufacturing environment, a plus
  • Familiarity with ERP systems for production planning and materials tracking, a plus
  • Prior experience mentoring or leading a small team of machinists, a plus

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC machines to manufacture high-quality parts
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to produce precision components
  • Optimize CNC programs for efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability
  • Select and maintain appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and implement solutions to maintain production schedules
  • Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing staff to improve processes and reduce cycle times
  • Mentor and train junior machinists and CNC operators as needed
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, following all safety procedures and quality standards
