About The Position

Hajoca Corporation is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist to join their Risk Management team at their National Support Center (NSC) in Lafayette Hill, PA. This is a hybrid role requiring three days in office. The ideal candidate will have experience managing insurance claims, be strategic and meticulous, and skilled at reviewing and interpreting complex claims and documents. The role involves assisting with Hajoca’s property and casualty insurance program, overseeing and managing claims (with an emphasis on worker’s compensation), providing quarterly reports, leading loss control initiatives, managing insurance-related invoicing, handling Certificate of Insurance requests, preparing OSHA reports, collaborating on policy development, participating in claim review meetings, gathering exposure data for renewals, assisting with premium audits, staying informed on regulatory compliance, contributing to risk management projects, analyzing driver data, and completing assigned training programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administrations or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5 or more years of experience managing worker’s compensation claims.
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance, loss control, and claims practices.
  • Ability to understand business contracts and to interpret complex legal language.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Proven track record identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks within a complex organizational structure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office to email and review/create reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with co-workers, vendors and management.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and take initiative in resolving problems and making recommendations.
  • Self-motivated and fast learner.
  • Strong organizational skills. Ability to organize complex projects, manage multiple tasks and meet established deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of Hajoca’s property and casualty insurance program.
  • Oversee and manage property and casualty insurance claims, with a strong emphasis on managing worker’s compensation claims, to mitigate financial impact and to ensure optimal outcomes for the Company.
  • Provide comprehensive quarterly reports on claims activity across all insurance lines, highlighting key trends, risks, and financial impacts.
  • Lead and support loss control initiatives, including Driver’s Alert, Dash Cams, Return-to-Work Programs, and Learning Management Systems, to enhance safety and reduce risk exposure.
  • Manage insurance-related invoicing, including premiums, deductible billings, and other related transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Handle Certificate of Insurance (COI) requests from customers and landlords, and track COIs from vendors to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Prepare and file annual OSHA recordkeeping reports, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate in the development and refinement of company policies that align with corporate objectives, industry standards, and risk management best practices.
  • Participate in strategic claim review meetings with insurance brokers and carriers to assess claim trends and influence future policy decisions.
  • Gather critical exposure data to support accurate and timely insurance policy renewals and adjustments.
  • Assist in the execution of annual insurance premium audits, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with underwriting guidelines.
  • Stay informed on evolving regulatory compliance matters, including DOT, OSHA, and other industry-specific regulations, to ensure the Company maintains full compliance.
  • Contribute to high-priority risk management projects, providing leadership and expertise as needed to address emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Analyze driver data to identify high-risk drivers, so that additional, targeted driver training may be assigned.
  • Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
