About The Position

The Senior Claim Associate plays a critical role in the operational effectiveness of the Claim Department by providing advanced administrative, technical and coordination support, ensuring accurate documentation, timely processing, and effective coordination of claim activities. This role is critical in maintaining organized workflows, supporting claim handlers, and facilitating communication with internal teams, external partners, and insureds.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • 3–6 years of progressive experience in claims administration/support or insurance operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of insurance claim workflows and terminology.
  • Demonstrated experience working with claim management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Advanced organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities independently.
  • High degree of attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, including the ability to spot issues and escalate as needed.

  • Experience supporting audits, reporting cycles, or client-facing deliverables preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact for administrative and operational claim inquiries, resolving issues independently when appropriate.
  • Monitor Oxford’s claim mailboxes, prioritizing, handling, and distributing mail as appropriate.
  • Enter, review, and maintain data within the claim management system, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal standards and service level expectations.
  • Prepare, review, and distribute written acknowledgements and routine claim correspondence to insureds, brokers, captive managers, TPAs, and fronting carriers.
  • Assist with the development, preparation, review, and quality control of internal and external reports, loss runs, and management summaries.
  • Monitor and manage communications and documentation from fronting carriers, ensuring proper routing, issue identification, and follow-up.
  • Perform advanced document handling tasks including redaction, quality review, document indexing, DocuSign workflow creation, and secure distribution.
  • Identify opportunities to improve claims administrative processes, workflows, and document management practices; escalate trends or risks as appropriate.
  • Provide informal guidance, training, and support to Claim Associates, assisting with onboarding, best practices, and procedural questions.
  • Support department-wide initiatives, audits, special projects, and regulatory or client-driven requests as needed.
