About The Position

Christman Constructors, Inc. (CCI) is seeking a Senior Civil Project Manager for its Livonia, Michigan region. The role manages assigned projects through the preconstruction and construction phases, serving as the primary client contact and overseeing project financials, change management, scheduling, conflict resolution, contractor relations, and delivery of professional management services. The manager coordinates with design teams, project staff, trade contractors, vendors, consultants, suppliers, and governing authorities to deliver projects in accordance with client needs, contractual obligations, applicable standards, and safety requirements. The position requires a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or other relevant coursework, and ten or more years of work experience in construction or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Employment requires authorization to work for any U.S. employer; visa sponsorship is unavailable. Successful completion of pre-employment screening, including drug and background screening, is required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or other relevant coursework, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Ten or more years of work experience in construction or a related job field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is unavailable.
Must successfully complete pre-employment screening, including drug and background screening.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact with clients and oversee project financial management, change management, scheduling, conflict resolution, and contractor relations.
Manage the preconstruction and construction phases of assigned projects.
Assist in developing project procurement documents for various delivery methods.
Oversee the cost and change management process for assigned projects from start to finish.
Compare client needs with contractual obligations and oversee professional management services delivered by Christman Constructors and contracted trades, vendors, consultants, and suppliers.
Partner with the Design Team to coordinate delivery of design packages with estimating, bidding, and construction schedules.
Allocate project resources based on project demands and adjust resource needs throughout the project life cycle.
Establish subcontract agreements and work scopes for trade contractors, and communicate expectations concerning project planning, trade coordination, safety, and work quality.
Determine the Builder’s Risk Insurance approach for each project and ensure required coverage amounts and dates.
Model safety awareness, observe on-site safety practices, address unsafe situations or behaviors, report violations, and coordinate corrective actions with the project superintendent.
Require accurate and complete incident or accident reports from Christman Constructors staff and involved trade contractors.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local regulatory agencies with jurisdiction over projects.
Partner with governing authorities responsible for inspections and approvals to understand requirements and concerns and develop plans to meet or exceed standards.
Establish work and authority scopes for project team members and trade contractors, and communicate expectations concerning project planning, trade coordination, safety, and work quality.
