About The Position

RESPEC seeks a Senior Civil Project Manager for its Sarasota, Florida location. The role manages residential and commercial land development projects, including contracts, budgets, design, workload, and permitting. It also involves oversight of construction projects and coordination with construction inspectors, preparation and review of engineering drawings and plans, permitting support, engineering calculations, and cost opinions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain or transfer a license within one year of the start date.
• Approximately 10 or more years of experience.
• Experience in contract administration, permitting, earthwork, site grading, utilities, stormwater management, roadway design, hydrology and hydraulic calculations, and utility design.
• Familiarity with development and design processes specific to local geographic markets.
• Experience with AutoCAD and hydrology/hydraulics software, including StormCAD, WaterCAD, ICPR, or similar packages.

Responsibilities

• Manage residential and commercial land development projects, including contracts, budgets, design, workload, and permitting.
• Provide oversight on construction projects and work with construction inspectors.
• Develop and produce conceptual, preliminary, and final construction design drawings.
• Assist with preparing construction plans, detail drawings, and project specifications.
• Review construction plans; perform horizontal and vertical roadway alignment calculations; and conduct utility research and coordination.
• Assist with permitting submittals.
• Perform quantity calculations and complete engineering cost opinions.
