About The Position

This part-time position in a recreational/food service environment for seniors over the age of 60 involves planning programs, coordinating services, and ensuring a positive experience at the center. The role supports older adults in staying active, curious, and socially engaged through a variety of activities, including trips, special events, arts, music, dance, lifelong learning, fitness, health programs, and a hot lunch service. The position is part of a team dedicated to making a difference in the lives of local seniors.

Requirements

• Three months of experience in providing direct services in a human services, education or a community based setting to the aging population or to individuals from various cultures and socio-economic backgrounds or to individuals who have physical, intellectual or emotional disabilities; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Must meet the PA residency requirement.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.
• A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Design activities, educational events, and nutritional programs that match the interests and needs of consumers.
• Arrange food deliveries, collect donations, and organize weekly meal packing for homebound seniors.
• Lead daily programs, connect with speakers and presenters, and assist with serving prepared lunches.
• Manage transportation arrangements for seniors who do not drive.
• Track attendance, assess program success, and record data in required computer systems.
