About The Position

The Senior Catering Captain supervises Catering Department employees and prepares and serves food at catered functions under the supervision of the Catering Director. The role may include driving a truck to deliver food and beverages to catered functions. It is based at Takeda, 55 Hayden Avenue, Lexington, Massachusetts. The schedule is full time, Monday through Friday, with hours that may vary. The pay range is $25.00 to $27.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Experience with CaterTrax, catering setups, and large-scale event coordination.
• May be required to have a valid driver's license.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid food handler's permit and/or alcohol servers permit where required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Catering Department employees and assist with performance appraisals.
• Determine workload requirements based on catering orders.
• Meet with function group leaders to discuss setup arrangements, handle last-minute changes, and resolve problems.
• Assemble and deliver food and supplies to scheduled catering functions.
• Return food, beverages, serving equipment, and utensils to the catering facility.
• Distribute and collect customer comment cards at catered functions.
• Ensure proper food presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies, and utensils in the work area.
• Clean equipment promptly and thoroughly clean the workstation before leaving for other assignments.
• Interact with customers, resolve complaints in a friendly and service-oriented manner, and relay relevant concerns to a supervisor.
• Follow sanitation and safety principles when handling food and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
