About The Position

High Tide Inc. is seeking a Senior Buyer – Accessories to join their Category Management team at their corporate office in Calgary, AB. This is a hybrid opportunity for a buyer who thrives in a fast-paced environment, combining data, product, and strategy to manage a high-impact category. The role involves driving purchasing, inventory strategy, and vendor partnerships for an accessories portfolio that supports both retail stores and e-commerce platforms like Canna Cabana, Smoke Cartel, Grasscity, Dankstop, and Daily High Club. This position offers the chance to grow into increased ownership within a rapidly growing global retailer in the cannabis and accessories space, with exposure to end-to-end category management in a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • 4 – 6 years in buying, merchandising, or supply chain (retail or e-commerce).
  • Experience managing high-SKU, fast-moving product categories.
  • Exposure to vendor management and negotiations.
  • Strong Excel and analytical capabilities.
  • Experience with ERP/POS systems (Tech POS, Sage X3, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of inventory planning and forecasting.
  • Detail-driven and highly organized.
  • Commercially curious, you love understanding what sells and why.
  • Comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive problem-solver with a strong sense of ownership.
  • A team player who’s eager to learn, grow, and lead.

Nice To Haves

  • International sourcing experience is an asset.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, or advanced reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of import/export logistics and customs processes.
  • Background in accessories, CPG, or similar categories.

Responsibilities

  • Curate a compelling, trend-forward product assortment.
  • Drive in-stock excellence across multiple channels.
  • Partner cross-functionally to bring products to life.
  • Grow into full category ownership over time.
  • Identify top-performing products, emerging trends, and whitespace opportunities.
  • Support new product launches and development initiatives.
  • Partner with Marketing and E-Commerce to execute promotions and seasonal campaigns.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels across retail and online channels.
  • Balance availability with efficiency, minimizing stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Support forecasting and planning across a high-SKU, fast-turn category.
  • Collaborate with domestic and international suppliers.
  • Support negotiations around cost, MOQ, lead times, and promotions.
  • Monitor vendor performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate product and vendor data in systems like Tech POS and Sage X3.
  • Use reporting and insights to guide decisions and mitigate risks.
  • Spot trends early and turn them into action.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Retail, Finance, and Compliance teams.
  • Support new store openings and company-wide initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
