Our Space division in Niagara Falls, NY is seeking a Senior Buyer to join our dynamic team. The Senior Buyer will have primary procurement responsibilities for multiple business areas, supporting Assembly & Test and other functions. This role requires a mix of strategic supplier development and day-to-day buying activities to ensure program schedules are met and cost, quality, and delivery targets are achieved.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, or a related field, and 2 years planning experience OR An Associate’s degree in Business, Analytics, or a related field, and 6 years planning experience
Strong communication and organizational skills
Strong sense of urgency
This position requires a full physical which includes bloodwork and Pulmonary Function testing

Nice To Haves

Any advanced degree or professional certifications are a plus
Experience with PowerBI
Experience in supporting lean manufacturing

Responsibilities

Acting as a procurement leader within the organization representing supply chain
Creating and executing sourcing strategies for assigned commodity/categories
Negotiating supplier contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings and risk reduction
Managing supplier performance, on-time delivery and quality metrics; escalating and resolving supplier issues
Collaborating with shop planning, production, and engineering to support component gating and kit releases
Conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation plans for material and supplier risks
Performing data-driven analyses and trend analysis to identify opportunities and forecast needs
Placing and expediting purchase orders; monitoring PO status and delivery dates
Providing reliable completion and delivery dates to internal stakeholders
Supporting master planning with basic forecasting inputs and procurement lead-time updates
Leading or participating in cross-functional problem-solving initiatives to remove supply constraints
Participating in or leading continuous improvement activities for the procurement function or business unit
Mentoring junior buyers and contributing to team development
