About The Position

This role is for a senior, consultative seller with experience in digital consulting or product development services within an agency or consulting firm. The ideal candidate can advise financial services leaders on the value of AI, has led complex pursuits, partnered with delivery teams, and grown accounts through trust and results. The Senior Business Development Executive will manage relationships from initial contact through expansion, navigating client organizations, challenging assumptions, and positioning VGV as a strategic partner for digital and AI initiatives. This role is not suitable for individuals whose background is primarily in license-based selling, quota-only AE work, or staff augmentation.

Requirements

  • Experience selling custom digital solutions, not off-the-shelf products.
  • Experience owning client relationships beyond the initial close.
  • Experience working directly with delivery teams to scope and price work.
  • Experience growing accounts through insight, credibility, and results.
  • Strong working understanding of how large insurance, banking, and fintech organizations buy, build, and govern technology, including regulatory, risk, and legacy-system realities.
  • Ability to speak in depth about industry challenges and articulate the direction of the space.
  • Ability to hold a substantive conversation about applied AI and generative UI, translate it into business value, and help clients differentiate hype from reality.
  • Ability to guide senior leaders through complex, ambiguous AI initiatives, framing problems, setting realistic expectations, and building confidence.
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience using Claude or comparable AI to drive measurable efficiency in personal work or client work, with examples.

  • Build and expand a portfolio of high-quality consulting engagements.
  • Grow personal network to originate opportunities across insurance, banking, and fintech.
  • Lead full-cycle, consultative sales processes for complex digital and AI initiatives.
  • Partner with design and engineering leaders to shape scope, value, and delivery approach.
  • Build long-term client relationships that drive repeat business and account expansion.
  • Position VGV as a trusted advisor to senior technology and product leaders on AI strategy and generative UI.
