This role is for a senior, consultative seller with experience in digital consulting or product development services within an agency or consulting environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading complex sales pursuits, collaborating with delivery teams, and expanding client accounts through trust and results. The Senior Business Development Executive will manage relationships from initial contact through account expansion, acting as a strategic partner for clients' digital and AI initiatives.

Requirements

  • Sold digital consulting or product development services inside an agency or consulting environment.
  • Experience leading complex, bespoke pursuits.
  • Experience partnering closely with delivery teams.
  • Experience growing accounts through trust, credibility, and results.
  • Experience owning client relationships beyond the initial close.
  • Experience working directly with delivery teams to scope and price work.
  • Brand and channel fluency: strong working understanding of how consumer brands across e-commerce, QSR, and CPG buy, build, and govern technology.
  • Credible point of view on the challenges facing consumer brands and where the space is going.
  • Required AI fluency: ability to hold a substantive conversation about applied AI and generative UI, translate it into business value, and help clients separate hype from reality.
  • Ability to guide senior leaders through complex, ambiguous AI initiatives.
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience using Claude or comparable AI to drive measurable efficiency in own work or clients' work, with examples.

Responsibilities

  • Build and expand a portfolio of high-quality consulting engagements.
  • Grow personal network to originate opportunities across insurance, banking, and fintech.
  • Lead full-cycle, consultative sales processes for complex digital and AI initiatives.
  • Partner with design and engineering leaders to shape scope, value, and delivery approach.
  • Build long-term client relationships that drive repeat business and account expansion.
  • Position VGV as a trusted advisor to senior technology and product leaders on AI strategy and generative UI.
