About The Position

Peraton is hiring a Senior Business Development Director to grow its Department of Homeland Security (DHS) footprint. This role requires an individual who understands the components, competitors, and the internal workings of DHS. The position offers a platform to execute strategy, leverage relationships, and pursue significant opportunities within a mission-critical customer environment. The DHS mission is constant, with ongoing demand for capabilities in areas like border security, cyber, immigration, screening, and critical infrastructure. This role involves leading pursuits valued at over $200 million and operating as an integral part of the Federal Civilian Sector growth team. The focus is on proactive engagement, influencing requirements and acquisition strategies before solicitations are released, and building durable customer relationships.

Requirements

  • 18+ years of related work experience
  • 5+ years in business development, capture, or technical/engineering solutions focused on DHS (specifically Headquarters and CBP) and other federal agencies
  • Demonstrated track record of successful pursuits in excess of $100M
  • Successful track record supporting and winning contracts across DHS organizations and the broader federal civilian community
  • Current, broad market relationships and proven success building partnerships with strategic teaming partners (prime and sub)
  • Matured key relationships across DHS and other federal government agencies
  • Ability to think strategically and operate independently
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for customer and partner meetings and conferences
  • Highly effective communicator equally at home with executives, program managers, and federal customers
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Create, identify, develop, and qualify opportunities aligned to Peraton's strategic campaigns, driving meaningful, measurable revenue growth.
  • Achieve acquisition and sales goals through new business wins, contract recompetes, teaming, and organic program growth.
  • Develop and continuously refresh a strategic growth plan and associated pipeline, consistent with corporate campaign strategy.
  • Serve as the primary interface with the DHS customer community for assigned opportunities, building durable relationships through effective communication.
  • Influence requirements and acquisition strategies before the formal solicitation lands.
  • Identify and target new markets, adjacencies, and partnerships that fit Peraton's discriminators.
  • Embrace Peraton's Business Acquisition Process and effectively manage and communicate opportunities, pursuit plans, and risk to leadership and technical teams.
  • Work with internal technical and program management teams to translate capabilities into RFIs, market surveys, white papers, briefings, and major event demonstrations that resonate with the customer.
