About The Position

Gallagher Bassett is seeking a seasoned Senior Business Analyst to serve as the liaison between business partners and the technical development team. The role elicits, analyzes, validates, specifies, verifies, prioritizes, and manages stakeholder business needs from initial discovery through successful implementation. It partners with business units, subject matter experts, customers, end users, technical resources, and vendor partners to identify needs, define solutions, translate objectives into actionable requirements and designs, and support development through completion. The position balances usability, performance, data integrity, delivery risk, and technical feasibility. It gathers and evaluates information from multiple sources, resolves conflicting input, decomposes high-level needs into detailed functional and non-functional requirements, documents user interfaces and system and data requirements, and challenges business assumptions. The Senior Business Analyst works with functional leads and vendor partners on solution designs, integrations, and implementation plans; creates and maintains workflows, approval processes, and validation rules; and collaborates with developers and subject matter experts on technical vision and tradeoffs. The role also monitors data quality and integrity, supports quality assurance and testing, maintains requirements traceability throughout project delivery, and helps troubleshoot production defects. It communicates with technical and non-technical stakeholders, adapts to shifting priorities, and mentors and influences others through example.

Requirements

Typically requires a university degree and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or equivalent experience.
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst or comparable business analysis role.
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse personality types.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision and collaborate effectively with personnel across departments.
Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and time management skills.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to meet tight deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and prioritize workload effectively.

Responsibilities

Serve as a liaison between business partners and the technical development team, managing stakeholder needs from discovery through implementation.

Elicit requirements through interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis.
Evaluate information from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and decompose high-level needs into detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
Define and document internal and external user interfaces and clarify system and data requirements.
Challenge business units' assumptions about how they will execute their plans.
Work with functional leads to transform business requirements into designs and implementation plans.
Interface with vendor partners to design solutions and integrations.
Create and maintain workflows, approval processes, and validation rules based on internal stakeholder requirements.
Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish technical vision and assess usability and performance tradeoffs.
Partner with internal and external peer groups to design and implement solutions.
Develop, maintain, and execute processes to monitor data quality and integrity across platform applications.
Assist with quality assurance by defining testing strategy, identifying risks, and supporting validation of delivered solutions.
Manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle to maintain traceability, alignment, and delivery quality.
Assist with troubleshooting production-environment defects from intake through resolution.
Maintain courteous and professional working relationships with employees at all levels.
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders through active listening, verbal communication, and business writing.
Adapt to shifting priorities and demands while maintaining focus on business outcomes.
Mentor and influence others through example.
