About The Position

Worldwide Clinical Trials is hiring a Senior Business Analyst to evaluate AI opportunities and determine whether they meet genuine business needs and deliver measurable, sustainable value. The role leads business analysis for AI Proof of Concept (POC) and Proof of Value (POV) initiatives, working with business sponsors, clinical and operational experts, technology and data teams, Finance, vendors, and control functions. The analyst defines business problems, requirements, baselines, success criteria, and evaluation methods, then assesses results and prepares evidence to support investment decisions. The role is remote and open to candidates based in the United States, with collaboration across global teams and time zones.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, information technology, life sciences, healthcare administration, data or analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least seven years of business analysis, process analysis, technology evaluation, operational improvement, or value-realization experience in a complex enterprise.
  • Experience eliciting and documenting requirements, mapping current- and future-state workflows, establishing measurable baselines, analyzing comparison or before-and-after results, and maintaining traceability from business need through solution and outcome.
  • Experience facilitating working sessions with business sponsors, subject matter experts, technical teams, control functions, and technology vendors or third-party solution providers.
  • Strong understanding of AI, automation, data, and human-in-the-loop concepts, including evaluating output quality, grounding, acceptable variability, error tolerance, human review, monitoring, and auditability.
  • Strong data literacy and the ability to challenge assumptions, assess attribution and confounding factors, communicate evidence limitations, and prepare concise executive-ready recommendations.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority, manage concurrent initiatives, and translate among business, clinical, operational, technical, financial, and control-function stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English and ability to work across the hours needed to support US-based business stakeholders and global delivery partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in clinical research, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, medical device, or another regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with GxP, computerized-system validation, responsible AI frameworks, controlled comparisons, or stage-gated technology evaluation.
  • Relevant IIBA, product ownership, process improvement, analytics, Lean Six Sigma, or change-management certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery and intake for AI opportunities by defining business problems, current workflows, intended outcomes, constraints, value hypotheses, and whether AI is an appropriate solution.
  • Develop POC and POV charters that establish scope, requirements, success and kill criteria, evidence sources, measurement approaches, decision thresholds, dependencies, and exit conditions.
  • Translate business, clinical, operational, data, and AI needs into requirements, process maps, future-state workflows, decision rules, human-review points, and measurable evaluation criteria.
  • Establish defensible baselines and evaluation approaches with Finance, process owners, and data specialists, distinguishing adoption and activity measures from operational outcomes and financial benefits.
  • Coordinate business participation and evidence collection during evaluations, tracking quality, adoption, workflow impact, exceptions, human overrides, assumptions, limitations, and risks.
  • Compare expected and observed results and translate measured operational improvements into credible value cases and implementation requirements.
  • Partner with Quality, Privacy, Security, Legal, Records Management, and validation specialists on regulated or sensitive use cases.
  • Prepare concise, decision-ready gate scorecards and evidence packages connecting the business need to requirements, results, risks, costs, measured value, and recommendations to promote, stop, recycle, or defer initiatives.
  • Improve reusable evaluation standards, templates, baselines, measurement methods, process maps, datasets, and lessons learned.

Benefits

  • Competitive benefits package, depending on location.
