About The Position

AspenView Technology Partners is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support an enterprise-wide data modernization effort for a client in a vertically integrated manufacturing environment. The role translates business requirements into reporting and data solutions using Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and related Azure data services. It works across manufacturing operations, supply chain, finance, and sales to ensure analytics produce measurable business outcomes. This is a contributor role focused on questioning whether the right solutions are being built, rather than simply executing assigned tasks. It is full-time (1.0 FTE), fully remote within the United States, and reports to AspenView Delivery Leadership. The position is subject to ITAR eligibility requirements. The successful candidate must be a U.S. Person under ITAR, meaning a U.S. resident who is either a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder). Status is verified during onboarding; this requirement cannot be waived, sponsored, or met through visa-based work authorization. AspenView does not sponsor employment visas for this role. The analyst partners with business stakeholders to define reporting needs; documents KPIs, metrics, dimensional structures, and semantic logic; supports the quality and usability of Power BI datasets and dashboards; and assists with validation and user acceptance testing. The role maps business processes and data flows across Dynamics 365/Dynamics AX and integrated systems, works with data engineers on analytics-ready transformations, and helps define data quality, governance, and master data requirements. It also identifies opportunities for automation and self-service analytics and maintains a prioritized enhancement backlog aligned with enterprise strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, or a similar role.
  • Strong experience writing functional requirements and BI solution documentation in an Agile environment.
  • Proven ability to facilitate workshops, communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, and present findings to executive stakeholders.
  • Practical understanding of Power BI reports, dashboards, datasets, and workspace organization.
  • Experience with ERP and operational data, especially Dynamics 365/Dynamics AX.
  • Understanding of manufacturing data such as work orders, bills of materials (BOMs), routing, costing, throughput, and supply chain.
  • Familiarity with SQL-based data environments and ability to perform basic data exploration and validation.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies and Azure DevOps for backlog and work item management.
  • Must meet ITAR U.S. Person eligibility: reside in the United States and be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder).
  • Must be permanently authorized to work in the country of residence and not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, and Fabric Link integrations.
  • Knowledge of marketing and sales data flows and attribution models.
  • Understanding of financial reporting hierarchies and cost accounting structures.
  • Experience working closely with data engineering teams or within DataOps environments.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders across manufacturing, finance, sales, operations, procurement, and marketing to define reporting needs.
  • Document KPIs, metrics, dimensional structures, and semantic logic for standardized reporting models.
  • Ensure Power BI datasets and dashboards are accurate, timely, secure, actionable, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Support validation and user acceptance testing for new reports and data products before deployment.
  • Map current business processes, data flows, and dependencies across ERP systems, including Dynamics 365/Dynamics AX, and integrated systems.
  • Work with data engineers to guide transformations needed to structure analytics-ready data.
  • Help define data quality rules, governance standards, and master data requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, self-service analytics, and data democratization.
  • Track enhancement requests and maintain a prioritized backlog aligned with enterprise strategy.
  • Facilitate workshops, communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, and present findings to executive stakeholders.
  • Surface risks, ambiguity, and weak requirements promptly; question existing processes and standards and recommend improvements based on evidence.
