About The Position

As a Senior Bookkeeper, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our clients' growth and operational effectiveness by delivering comprehensive bookkeeping and accounting services. You will be part of a collaborative team that values accuracy, client service, and leadership, helping clients navigate their financial needs and achieve their business goals. This posting reflects a current hiring need for our client. We use AI-assisted tools to help review resumes and identify potential candidate matches, however all hiring decisions are made by our team and the client directly.

Requirements

  • Diploma in accounting
  • 5+ years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience, including 1–2 years in a leadership or mentoring role
  • Experience performing bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations
  • Experience supporting month-end close and preparing financial reports
  • Payroll support experience, including ROEs, T4s, and payroll remittances
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets)
  • Experience communicating directly with clients to provide bookkeeping and accounting guidance
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada

  • In the first 90 days, the successful candidate will become familiar with our systems, processes, and clients, and approach their work with confidence, curiosity, and resourcefulness. They will independently handle day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, maintain accurate financial records, complete reconciliations, support payroll and month-end activities, and proactively seek out information or clarification when needed. Success in this role means being dependable, organized, comfortable problem-solving in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, and demonstrating a proven ability to meet tight deadlines while continuing to grow with the team.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering end-to-end bookkeeping and accounting services for multiple clients
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with professional standards and firm policies
  • Performing bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations
  • Generating financial reports and providing practical, client-tailored financial guidance
  • Communicating directly with clients to gather required information
  • Supporting payroll activities, including ROEs, T4s, and payroll remittances, as well as month-end close processes
  • Ensuring deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule
  • Providing day-to-day team leadership, monitoring performance, and mentoring junior team members
  • Assisting with special projects and other related duties as needed
