Ensures accurate freight charges are applied, discrepancies are resolved, and all billing records are maintained in compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Mentors and trains new billing staff.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Experience working in high volume billing
Proficiency with computer programs and Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel.

Nice To Haves

3+ Years’ Experience in Transportation/Logistics Industry preferred
3-6 years’ experience in accounting or finance preferred

Responsibilities

Generate, audit, and process freight invoices for shipments, ensuring charges align with contracts, tariffs, and rates
Review shipping documents (BOLs, PODs, manifests) for accuracy and completeness
Accurately calculate freight charges using rate schedules, contracts, and applicable accessorials
Investigate and resolve billing issues with carriers, brokers, and clients; escalate unresolved matters as needed
Liaise with internal teams (logistics, accounting) and external parties (carriers, customers) to clarify billing questions and ensure timely payments
Input billing information into company databases and billing software; maintain organized, compliant financial records
Ensure all billing activities comply with company policies, UCC regulations, and freight billing standards
