About The Position

Westland Insurance Group Ltd. is seeking a Senior Benefits Consultant for their Westland Group Benefits team. This is a hybrid role based out of the Burlington, Ontario office. The position involves managing client relationships, delivering strategic benefits solutions, and helping businesses protect their employees. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in group benefits or employee benefits account management
  • Strong knowledge of group health, dental, life, disability, and ancillary benefits products
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver strategic, results-driven solutions
  • Excellent communicator and problem solver, with strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
  • Life licensed (LLQP) in your home province

  • Industry designations such as CEBS or GBA considered strong assets

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of group benefits clients
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key client decision-makers, plan administrators, and advisors
  • Lead annual renewals in collaboration with Underwriting, including carrier negotiations, rate analysis, and plan design recommendations
  • Conduct regular client meetings to review plan performance, introduce new offers, and gather feedback
  • Develop and implement benefits strategies tailored to client needs and business goals
  • Prepare and deliver quarterly and mid-year reviews with actionable insights and recommendations
  • Collaborate with carriers to implement plan changes, resolve claims issues, and ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Respond to client inquiries on billing, claims, eligibility, and plan design
  • Maintain accurate and current client records in CRM and internal systems
  • Work closely with Sales, Underwriting, and Client Services to deliver seamless service
  • Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell Westland’s suite of benefits and insurance products to drive growth within existing accounts
  • Track and report on retention and growth metrics
