About The Position

The Member Relationship Consultant is responsible for providing an exceptional in-branch member experience. This role involves building and deepening relationships with members by proactively uncovering financial needs. The consultant processes various financial transactions such as check cashing, withdrawals, deposits, and loan payments. They also take applications and close consumer loans, home equity loans, and mortgage loans, performing these transactions on both stationary and mobile devices. A key aspect of the role is identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving member service issues. The consultant is expected to manage a self-developed pipeline of members and prospects to meet or exceed assigned sales goals. This multi-faceted role demands exceptional member service skills, comprehensive product/service knowledge, technological expertise, attention to detail, and strict adherence to operations policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Minimum of two years of work - related experience as a Member Service Consultant and/or Relationship Banker in the financial industry
  • Energizing force in the branch; someone who likes to be lead and sets a high pace of energy, enthusiasm and engagement with other employees and members
  • Must hold a valid Michigan Credit Insurance License to receive paid incentive on sale of insurance product
  • Obtain and maintain NMLS registration within 6 months of hire date
  • Take real estate loan applications within 6 months of NMLS registration
  • Expert skills in computer terminal, personal computer and mobile/electronic device operation; mainframe computer system; word processing and spreadsheet software programs
