About The Position

OleOle is seeking a hands-on Senior Backend Engineer to build and manage the global LIVE Scores infrastructure for football, basketball, Formula 1, cricket, golf, boxing, tennis, and other sports. The engineer will integrate Enetpulse sports-data APIs and develop a scalable, provider-independent backend capable of supporting hundreds of competitions worldwide. The architecture should allow OleOle to replace Enetpulse partially or entirely with other data providers without rebuilding the platform. The role includes building real-time data processing and synchronization systems, flexible data models for different sporting structures, and APIs that support distinct frontend experiences for each sport. The engineer will ensure data accuracy, reliability, scalability, and efficient provider switching, while connecting sports information to OleOle’s existing microblogging platform without interfering with its 4U recommendation system. This person will own the LIVE Scores backend and collaborate with the existing frontend and design teams.

  • Ability to independently architect, implement, test, and maintain production backend systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate with frontend engineers and UX/UI designers.
  • Ability to understand and model fundamentally different sporting structures across team and individual sports.
  • Ability to adapt, work across a broad range of problems and technologies, and be comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
