About The Position

Morgan Stanley Fund Services (MSFS), part of the Institutional Equities Division, provides fund administration services to hedge funds, private equity firms, and family offices. The Centralized Exception Reporting Team (CERT) supports accuracy across MSFS by performing daily and month-end pricing reviews and cash and position reconciliations. The Senior Associate validates client portfolio security prices, investigates discrepancies against market data feeds and counterparty records, reviews audit confirmations, and coordinates with the Accounting team to help ensure client NAVs and portfolio valuations are correct. The role requires meeting daily and monthly deadlines, escalating exceptions as appropriate, and working collaboratively with colleagues across time zones and geographies.

Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of prior work experience; financial services experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good administrative and organisational skills, with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage increased workloads at month-end.
• Ability to work as part of a virtual team across time zones and geographies.
• Ability to use key financial systems and other IT tools.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of hedge fund processing is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily and month-end pricing checks across financial products including equities, options, swaps, and CDS.
• Compare valuations against market data feeds such as NASDAQ, NYSE, and Bloomberg, and highlight discrepancies.
• Reconcile daily and month-end cash balances and positions against counterparty statements and prime broker records, accounting for product-specific features.
• Apply knowledge of corporate actions and accounting entries during reconciliation processes.
• Review standard MSFS audit confirmations issued to investors’ auditors, confirming investor holdings for the audit period.
• Check that portfolio valuations comply with the client’s offering memorandum and flag discrepancies.
• Identify and escalate exceptions in CERT processes to the appropriate level.
• Coordinate with the Accounting team and provide real-time updates on pricing and reconciliation status.
• Complete daily and monthly deliverables by defined deadlines and escalate potential delays.
