About The Position

Boston Financial (BF) provides capital solutions for affordable housing developers and investment opportunities for institutional investors. It manages more than $16 billion in equity under management and almost 1,900 properties, and is a national leader in affordable housing capital solutions. BF is seeking a Senior Associate, Business Development & Corporate Strategy to support its business development and strategic efforts. The role combines analytical work with execution across corporate strategy, external business development, product development, and enterprise initiatives. The Senior Associate will collaborate across a portfolio of projects overseen by the Managing Director, Business Development and Strategy, and prepare decision-level information for senior leadership.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, real estate, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in corporate development, strategy, consulting, financial analysis, investment analysis, accounting, real estate finance, or a related field.
Solid financial acumen and a deep working knowledge of financial statements, corporate metrics, and KPIs.
Basic understanding of accounting systems, principles, practices, and procedures.
Ability to learn quickly and work independently or as part of a high-performing team.
Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work in a dynamic, evolving environment.
Strong business judgment and decision-making skills.
Excellent organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with a professional demeanor.
Ability to plan and prioritize assignments, meet critical deadlines, and manage multiple high-priority workflows simultaneously.
Ability to summarize complex information clearly for executive communication, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Project management capability.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in daily activities.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with LIHTC, affordable housing finance, tax credit syndication, real estate investment, or impact investing.

Responsibilities

Evaluate developer relationships, community initiatives, and new market opportunities to support growth across Boston Financial’s affordable housing platform.
Evaluate partnerships, strategic initiatives, and new market opportunities to drive platform growth.
Identify and analyze market opportunities to expand the client base and sources of revenue.
Assist with diligence, financial analysis, business-case development, and integration planning for target investments in support of Boston Financial’s M&A strategy.
Collaboratively develop performance metrics and accountability frameworks for emerging business opportunities.
Analyze and synthesize financial, market, and business information to provide senior leadership with decision-level insights and recommendations.
Prepare presentations, investment memos, and board decks for senior and executive leadership at Boston Financial and its affiliates.
Support high-priority strategic initiatives by developing business cases, establishing cross-functional workstreams, and supporting implementation and performance monitoring.
Establish and maintain execution frameworks, milestones, performance measures, and reporting for early-stage enterprise initiatives.
Build and maintain effective relationships with internal business leaders and external institutional stakeholders to advance strategic initiatives and business objectives.
