About The Position

The Senior Assistant Vice President (Sr. AVP) on the Product Development Team for a US healthcare project drives the strategic vision and execution of complex product development initiatives. The role leads cross-functional teams in delivering healthcare solutions that meet market needs and regulatory standards, collaborates with executive leadership to align product strategy with organizational goals, and supports continuous improvement of product offerings. The Sr. AVP oversees product development from concept through market launch, leads and mentors senior product managers, engineers, and designers, and guides strategic planning, market analysis, stakeholder management, and product roadmaps. The role also applies expertise in medical and reimbursement policy and payment integrity to identify savings opportunities, validate estimates against claims data, develop prototypes using AI tools, and work with product and technology teams to scale successful prototypes into products. As a subject-matter expert, the Sr. AVP participates in client meetings and sales pursuits, communicates clinical and financial value, and shapes solution strategy around payer needs and industry trends.

Requirements

8+ years of relevant experience.
Senior expertise in medical and reimbursement policy.
Experience at a payment integrity company or a health plan (payer).
Strong technology skills, including hands-on experience using AI tools to quickly build working prototypes.
Ability to use AI to translate policy logic into SQL queries for testing savings opportunities and validating cost-savings estimates against claims data.
Consulting or client-facing mindset.
Strong communication skills with senior executives.
Extensive healthcare industry experience and a proven ability to manage large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

Oversee the product development lifecycle from concept to market launch, aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
Lead and mentor senior product managers, engineers, and designers, fostering innovation and excellence.
Drive strategic planning, market analysis, stakeholder management, product vision, and roadmaps.
Ensure product compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Identify opportunities for product enhancement and innovation.
Use AI tools to build working prototypes and translate policy logic into SQL queries to test savings opportunities and validate cost-savings estimates against claims data.
Work with product and technology teams to turn successful prototypes into scalable products.
Serve as a senior subject-matter expert in client meetings and sales pursuits, explaining clinical and financial value.
Shape solution strategy and identify use cases based on payer needs and industry trends.
Collaborate with executive leadership to align product strategies with organizational goals.
