About The Position

Brown University’s Office of College Admission supports the University’s mission by recruiting, selecting, and enrolling students who will embrace its rigorous yet flexible Open Curriculum and contribute to an intellectually engaged, kind, and questioning community. The office evaluates applicants by considering their talents, accomplishments, energy, curiosity, perspectives, identities, academic records, essays, recommendations, independent work, secondary-school programs, and achievements outside the classroom; no single measure is determinative. The Senior Assistant Director reads and evaluates applications, serves as a voting member of the Board of Admission, develops regional recruitment strategies, conducts information sessions, and represents Brown at schools, college fairs, alumni events, and other recruitment events in assigned territories. The role also assists with and may lead special projects and provides recommendations and professional support to Associate Directors. This position leads recruitment and selection of U.S. military veterans, maintains relationships with Brown’s ROTC battalions, and serves as the primary admission liaison to the Brown Office of Military Affiliated Students (OMAS). Active-duty military experience is strongly preferred. This is a regular, full-time employee position with a hybrid work location and a scheduled 37.5-hour workweek. The position requires travel and the ability to work long hours. All offers are contingent on a successful background check; the position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
