About The Position

The Utah Division of Child & Family Services (DCFS) Metro office is seeking a highly motivated individual with professional work experience in an office setting to fill their Senior Assistant Caseworker, Office Support position. Become part of a team of professionals working together to keep children safe and strengthen families in our communities! This position may be eligible to work a hybrid schedule of both in-office and telework days. Please note, a position’s eligibility for hybrid work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason. The State of Utah requires all employees to physically work inside the State of Utah Boundaries.

Requirements

  • A valid Utah driver's license is required.
  • Skilled using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Pro to create and prepare documents.
  • Communicates effectively, clearly, and concisely verbally and in writing.
  • Adept at dealing with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality.
  • Great public relation skills.
  • Gives attention to small details for accuracy of information provided.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous and/or current experience working for the Utah Division of Child & Family Services (DCFS)
  • Experience working in an office setting
  • Experience working with the State's social welfare database system, SAFE
  • Adobe Pro experience
  • Knowledge of google workspace applications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in covering the reception area.
  • Greeting and assisting walk-in clients.
  • Preparing letters and/or documentation for courts and/or clients.
  • Receiving incoming telephone calls and direct them to the appropriate staff member.
  • Mailing certified mail to clients or sheriff; tracking in SAFE case system.
  • Creating, maintaining, scanning, and/or archiving files, reports, etc.
  • Retrieving files for workers, AGs, supervisors, and audits.
  • Assisting with 24-hour notifications and priors.
  • Taking and transcribing minutes at meetings.
  • Assisting with completing Medicaid applications.
  • Responsible for processing payments, managing financial transactions, and handling other related financial tasks as assigned.
  • Transporting clients and children.
  • Supervising and monitoring visits.
  • Other duties as assigned
