About The Position

The Utah Division of Child & Family Services (DCFS) Metro office is seeking a highly motivated individual with professional work experience in an office setting to fill their Senior Assistant Caseworker, Office Support position. This clerical position serves as a resource to the professional child welfare social work staff by providing direct client services. Requirements

  • A valid Utah driver's license is required.
  • Skilled using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Pro to create and prepare documents.
  • Communicates effectively, clearly, and concisely verbally and in writing.
  • Adept at dealing with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality.
  • Great public relation skills.
  • Gives attention to small details for accuracy of information provided.
  • Professional work experience in an office setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of google workspace applications preferred
  • Previous and/or current experience working for the Utah Division of Child & Family Services (DCFS)
  • Experience working in an office setting
  • Experience working with the State's social welfare database system, SAFE
  • Adobe Pro experience

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in covering the reception area.
  • Greeting and assisting walk-in clients.
  • Preparing letters and/or documentation for courts and/or clients.
  • Receiving incoming telephone calls and direct them to the appropriate staff member.
  • Mailing certified mail to clients or sheriff; tracking in SAFE case system.
  • Creating, maintaining, scanning, and/or archiving files, reports, etc.
  • Retrieving files for workers, AGs, supervisors, and audits.
  • Assisting with 24-hour notifications and priors.
  • Taking and transcribing minutes at meetings.
  • Assisting with completing Medicaid applications.
  • Processing payments, managing financial transactions, and handling other related financial tasks as assigned.
  • Transporting clients and children.
  • Supervising and monitoring visits.
  • Taking notes and minutes and distributing minutes from Staff meetings and Team meetings.
  • Answering phones.
  • Greeting visitors and clients.
  • Completing Clear Search requests for caseworkers.
  • Helping to supervise visits.
  • Transporting youth.
  • Other duties as assigned.
