Requirements

  • Highly developed knowledge and understanding of the social housing sector and the housing system generally, including the community, local government and private sector, or relevant knowledge and experience in a related field.
  • High level strategic, conceptual, analytical, and creative skills, including an ability to understand the political, social, and organisational environment, and identify relevant issues and strategies to address them.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility and a commitment to a team-based approach in an environment subject to work pressure and change, together with well-developed self-management skills, including the ability to plan, organise and prioritise work load.
  • Current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People (child related activity) Registration (Employment type)

Nice To Haves

  • Tertiary qualifications in planning, finance, economics, property, or engineering.
  • Applied knowledge of the land-use planning framework and building regulatory framework and construction industry.
  • Prior experience in asset management and/or understanding of procurement practices, especially in the government context.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high level research, planning, analysis, evaluative and reporting functions for the strategic management of the Homes Tasmania asset portfolio, and community infrastructure projects and objectives.
  • Assess the merits and constraints of potential acquisitions in line with strategic objectives and the land use planning system, including management of property acquisitions and transfers into the asset portfolio.
  • Prepare and present formal recommendations for the consideration of senior managers.
  • Prepare processes, strategies and plans to support management of the social housing portfolio in accordance with the strategic asset management framework.
