About The Position

We are seeking a full-time motivated and skilled Senior Applications & Integrations Analyst to join our team. This role sits within Ascend's Clinic Systems and Integrations function and serves as a key bridge between technology, practice operations, vendors, and end users. The Senior Applications & Integrations Analyst will support the full application lifecycle, including system configuration, workflow design, access administration, application governance, implementation, integration, testing, training, issue resolution, and ongoing optimization. ModMed EMA and Practice Management are core platforms supported by this role; however, the position is broader than EHR administration. The analyst will also support Ascend's evolving enterprise application ecosystem, including patient engagement, scheduling, payment, reporting, clinical, and operational technologies. A significant focus of this role will be helping Ascend establish scalable application standards across practices while supporting the integration of newly acquired organizations. The analyst will evaluate workflows, identify opportunities for standardization, coordinate application changes and integrations, maintain system documentation, and help ensure technology decisions support both local operational needs and enterprise strategy. The ideal candidate is an experienced healthcare applications professional who understands how system configuration, workflows, data, people, and business processes intersect. This person should be comfortable moving between technical troubleshooting, operational workflow discussions, application configuration, project execution, vendor coordination, and end-user training. Travel Requirement: This position requires approximately 25–35% travel to supported practice locations, including newly acquired sites, as needed to support system implementations, training, data integration, and ongoing operational needs.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
Three or more years of experience supporting healthcare applications, EHR/PM platforms, clinical systems, revenue-cycle systems, or comparable healthcare technology.
Hands-on experience with application administration, configuration, workflow analysis, implementation, optimization, or system support.
Strong understanding of healthcare operational workflows such as patient scheduling, registration, clinical documentation, charge capture, billing, claims, payments, or patient communications.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex system and workflow problems and identify root causes.
Experience translating business or operational requirements into system configuration, workflows, or technical requirements.
Experience participating in or leading system implementations, upgrades, migrations, or optimization initiatives.
Strong project organization skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams, priorities, dependencies, and stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, vendors, operational leaders, clinical staff, and end users.
Ability to create clear system documentation, workflow guidance, training resources, and technical or operational procedures.
Ability to travel approximately 25–35%.
Direct experience administering or implementing ModMed EMA and Practice Management.
Experience as an EHR/PM application analyst, clinical applications analyst, systems analyst, implementation analyst, application administrator, or healthcare technology consultant.
Experience supporting a multi-location or multi-state physician organization, MSO, healthcare management company, or other distributed healthcare environment.
Experience supporting acquisitions, system consolidations, practice integrations, or EHR/PM conversions.
Experience within plastic surgery, dermatology, aesthetics, medical spa, or another environment that includes both self-pay and insurance-based services.
Familiarity with application governance, change control, system lifecycle management, or enterprise technology standards.
Working knowledge of APIs, HL7, SSO, interface concepts, and application integration troubleshooting.
Experience with reporting or analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or comparable technologies.
Experience with project management tools and structured implementation methodologies.

Nice To Haves

Formal project management training or certification such as PMP or CAPM is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Administer and support enterprise healthcare applications, with primary responsibility for ModMed EMA and Practice Management.
Configure and maintain application components including users, roles and permissions, providers, resources, schedules, appointment types, templates, workflows, task types, fee schedules, inventory, forms, and other system settings.
Analyze current-state workflows and system configuration to identify opportunities for simplification, standardization, automation, and improved user experience.
Troubleshoot application issues, determine root cause, and distinguish between configuration, workflow, training, integration, vendor, and infrastructure problems.
Evaluate new features and functionality and coordinate testing, communication, implementation, and post-deployment validation.
Identify recurring support issues and implement sustainable solutions rather than relying on repeated manual intervention.
Support Ascend's enterprise application governance framework and maintain consistent standards across affiliated practices.
Maintain documentation of enterprise application standards, approved configurations, system owners, workflows, integrations, and intentional practice-level variances.
Support application intake and evaluation processes for new technology requests, enhancements, integrations, and significant configuration changes.
Assist with impact analysis for proposed application changes, including operational workflow, data, training, security, integration, and downstream reporting considerations.
Coordinate application testing and change-management activities before significant changes are introduced into production environments.
Help maintain application inventories, configuration records, change logs, decision documentation, and governance artifacts.
Partner with operational, financial, marketing, data, compliance, and technology stakeholders to ensure application decisions support enterprise objectives.
Support technology integration activities for newly acquired practices from initial discovery through stabilization.
Execute Ascend's system implementation methodology, including discovery, requirements gathering, configuration, data migration validation, testing, training, go-live preparation, deployment, and post-go-live optimization.
Assess newly acquired practices' applications and workflows and help determine where systems should be retained, consolidated, replaced, integrated, or standardized.
Develop and maintain implementation plans, dependencies, milestones, risks, issues, owners, and readiness criteria for assigned projects.
Coordinate application integrations with internal teams, software vendors, managed IT partners, and other external partners.
Support integrations involving patient engagement platforms, payment systems, analytics platforms, imaging, laboratories, identity/access solutions, and other third-party technologies.
Assist with HL7, API, file-based, and other application interfaces by coordinating requirements, testing, troubleshooting, and vendor follow-up.
Validate data migrations and system conversions, including schedules, patient information, balances, configuration, and other critical operational data.
Serve as an escalation resource for application and workflow issues that cannot be resolved at the practice level.
Investigate issues through systematic troubleshooting and document findings, root cause, resolution, and follow-up actions.
Manage vendor support cases and maintain accountability through resolution.
Coordinate with managed IT, software vendors, and internal stakeholders when issues cross application, infrastructure, security, or integration boundaries.
Maintain visibility into open application issues, project risks, dependencies, and outstanding vendor deliverables.
Identify patterns across practices and recommend enterprise-level solutions when common issues or workflow gaps are identified.
Translate operational needs into scalable application workflows and configuration.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, quick reference guides, configuration runbooks, workflow documentation, and training materials.
Deliver role-based system training to front-office, clinical, provider, revenue-cycle, and administrative teams.
Support onboarding, application rollouts, system conversions, workflow changes, and remediation training.
Partner with practice leaders and subject matter experts to support adoption of standardized workflows.
Support Ascend's Super User program by equipping designated practice resources to provide effective first-line application support.
Provide onsite and virtual go-live and stabilization support as needed.
Ensure application configuration supports consistent, reliable, and comparable enterprise reporting.
Partner with Ascend's Data and Finance teams to validate source-system data and investigate discrepancies between applications, reporting platforms, and operational reports.
Understand how application configuration decisions affect downstream reporting, analytics, automation, and integrations.
Assist with validating operational and revenue-cycle reports and documenting source fields, report logic, and business definitions.
Support reconciliation and data-quality activities related to implementations, application changes, and system integrations.
Identify source-system data quality issues and recommend configuration or workflow changes that improve data integrity.
Administer application access in accordance with role-based access and HIPAA minimum-necessary principles.
Support user provisioning, deactivation, role and permission management, SSO enrollment, and periodic access reviews.
Maintain appropriate system documentation, change records, and access records to support compliance and audit requirements.
Support application-related policies and procedures involving privacy, security, downtime, access governance, and system use.
