About The Position

The Senior Application Programmer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Microsoft Power Platform solutions. This includes developing Canvas and Model-driven Power Apps, Power Pages, Power Automate flows, Dataverse data models, and Power BI reports. The role involves translating business requirements into technical solutions, integrating Power Platform with other Microsoft services and external systems, and ensuring solutions adhere to security, compliance, and accessibility standards. Collaboration with stakeholders, project managers, and other developers is key, as is providing technical guidance and mentorship. The position also involves evaluating new Power Platform features and potentially working with Copilot Studio for conversational AI solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience developing solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, On-premises and cloud RDBMS, Dataverse, and Power BI.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated strong understanding of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), environment strategy (including deployment and troubleshooting across Dev/Test/Prod), security and role-based access control, and SQL queries.
  • 5+ years of experience gathering requirements and translating them into technical designs.
  • Ability to work independently and across multiple projects in a shared-services environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Copilot Studio or other conversational AI platforms.
  • Experience in government, public-sector, or regulated environments.
  • Experience with MS SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with Dynamics 365.
  • Familiarity with Azure services, including Logic Apps, Functions, API Management, etc.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for Power Platform.
  • Microsoft certifications, such as Power Platform Developer or Solution Architect.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Microsoft Power Platform solutions, including Canvas and Model-driven Power Apps, Power Pages, Power Automate cloud flows and approvals, Dataverse data models, business rules, and security roles, and Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Translate business and program requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Develop reusable components, patterns, and templates aligned with OTS standards.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and train in-house developers.
  • Integrate Power Platform solutions with Microsoft 365 services, Dynamics 365, Azure services, and external systems through connectors and APIs.
  • Apply best practices for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Implement role-based security, Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies, and environment strategies.
  • Ensure solutions comply with Louisiana OTS standards and applicable federal and state regulations, including security, privacy, and accessibility requirements.
  • Support audits, documentation, and technical reviews.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, architects, and other developers.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and citizen developers.
  • Participate in solution reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions.
  • Evaluate and pilot new Power Platform features and capabilities.
  • Assist in designing conversational AI solutions and virtual agents using Copilot Studio (preferred).
