About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking an Android Mobile Development Engineer for a hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. The role involves designing, developing, and prototyping Android mobile applications for both internal and external use. The ideal candidate will be a senior Android developer with expertise in Android native test automation solutions using Kotlin and hands-on experience creating automation scripts for mobile applications. You will participate in the full application life-cycle, including developing automation scripts, testing, and releasing to the app store, while working with product teams on new ideas, designs, and prototypes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering
  • 5-7 years of experience as an app developer
  • 5+ years of experience on the Android Platform, with development using Kotlin and/or Java
  • Must have development experience in Core Java
  • Must have experience writing automated tests using frameworks like Appium
  • Experience designing and building native mobile applications on the Android platform
  • Proficient in Kotlin, Objective-C, Swift, Swift UI, Web Services, Rest Services, Core Java, CSS, HTML, Java Script, and XML
  • Extensive knowledge of XCode
  • Knowledge of C-based libraries
  • Proficient in code versioning tools including Git and Bitbucket
  • Familiarity with Biometrics, push notifications, and usage of Camera API's

Nice To Haves

  • Mobile Test Automation with Appium is good to have (Android and iOS platform)
  • Experience with continuous integration and Unit tests
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong focus on troubleshooting and issue resolution

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and prototype native Android mobile applications for phones and tablets
  • Participate in the full app life-cycle: develop automation scripts, test, and release to the app store
  • Work with product teams on new product ideas, designs, prototypes, and estimates
  • Keep up to date on current and upcoming features in relevant products and platforms
  • Drive best practices for the continuous improvement of products, processes, and tools
  • Write and maintain documentation for all features in development
  • Collaborate with the design team to define app features
  • Ensure the quality and performance of the application meets specifications
  • Identify potential problems and resolve application bottlenecks
  • Fix application bugs before the final release and publish to the App Store
  • Maintain the code and atomization of the application
